Kaitlyn Shields Media Portfolio
Who Am I?
My name is Kaitlyn Shields. I am a graduate of Liberty University where I earned my degree in digital media with a concentration in video. While at Liberty, I learned to develop strong creative skills in storytelling, filmmaking, and editing. I discovered her passion for film while watching classic Hollywood movies such as My Fair Lady, Casablanca, Gigi, An American in Paris, and Hello, Dolly! That passion led me to research famous directors and analyze camera angles and editing techniques. I believe filmmaking is a creative way for filmmakers to inform, entertain, and evoke an emotional connection with audiences. At the age of nine, I moved to Washington, D.C. where I attended racially diverse schools and developed an awareness of other cultures and a passion for domestic and international travel.
I was selected to be a fellow for Liberty University's Washington Fellowship Program during Summer 2018. I interned at National Community Church on Capitol Hill as a Production Assistant and gained valuable experience by
learning how to assemble cameras, lights, backdrops, and audio equipment for church services, interviews, and promotional videos.
I will be ab asset to your team because I am a quick learner, work well with people, and thrive in fast-paced environments. I am a team player and have a strong ability to collaborate with others, as well as work independently. I also have excellent leadership, written, and verbal communication skills.
I have an advanced understanding of Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Audition, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and Microsoft Office Suite. Current camera and audio equipment include Sony PXW-FS5, Canon Mark 5D
Mark III & IV, Canon Rebel T7i, Ronin Handheld Gimbal Stabilizer, and Zoom H4n & H6 Handy Recorder.
